NEWS BITES : new Zeus video, Leif Vollebekk dates, The Golden Dogs new album

The Golden Dogs’ new song “Permanent Record” was recently selected by actor Elijah Woods for his “Elysium” charity compilation. The compilation is available exclusively on iTunes and all the bands, which also includes Vancouver's Black Mountain, have donated their music for children who are battling serious medical conditions.

The track is also available on their upcoming album, Coat of Arms which hits stores July 27. Fans that pre-order the CD, LP or digital album will receive 2 album tracks by email immediately.

Montreal based Leif Vollebekk is touring the west coast for the first time, bringing his minimalist folk that saw him open for artists such as Basia Bulat. He'll be promoting his latest record Inland, which was released back in January. Vollebekk is also returning to the studio with Howard Bilerman (Arcade Fire, Godspeed...) at Hotel2Tango in Montreal in order to record his sophomore album, due out sometime in 2011.
